THURS NIGHT QUICK-PLAY

Congratulations to Graham Mooney on a very convincing performance to take top spot for the 5th time in this format on 17 points. Graham is an outstanding player and has played in major competitions including the Chess Olympiad. Having said that he has at times struggled to show that form in this format but you can’t keep a good player down for long and this was as convincing a victory as you can get!
Richard Kynoch and Euan Murray, both no slouches at this format had to settle for joint runner-up place on 11 points (no lichess tie-breakers here!), 6 behind Graham! This is Richard’s 8th runner-up place and his second in a row and Euan`s 6th runner-up place.
In third place for the 3rd time is in form junior Ramit Kanodia J15 on 7 points! Ramit has always had the latent talent but has struggled for a few months. Now he is beginning to show us what we all know he can do, not only here but in the “Junior 4NCL” and other tournaments. Even more impressive he has finished top junior for the 24th time, including the last five times in a row! Outstanding chess from Ramit!
