JUNIOR 4NCL – Tues 2nd Sept 21 – 6pm – Match Report
The 4NCL is a joint venture between Castlehill Chess Club Dundee and Dundee Chess Club.
Division Two – Group C
Dundee City Juniors 5½ – 2½ Warwickshire Bears F
What a fantastic result for Dundee City Juniors as they make it two wins out of two! Out graded by their opponents our juniors proved they are themselves under graded! This result puts Dundee City Juniors in third place on the same points as two other teams, but 3½ game points behind the current leaders Surrey Kings 1 who had a walkover in round 2!
Board One: Max Whisson J16 found it tough going against a strong opponent and lost both matches. We know Max will be the savour in other matches!
Board Two: Ramit Kanodia J14 was in scintillating form winning both his matches against a player on the same level grading wise. We are now at last beginning to see what Ramit has in his locker!
Board Three: Alexander Barron-Majerik J9 won his first game and drew his second against a player graded well above him. It looks like Alexander is showing signs of rapid improvement and you can do no more than that! Wonderful performance!
Board Four: Well I will be the first to admit, I did not see this score line coming as Haoqi Liu won “BOTH” his games against a player graded well above him. Haoqi is a talented junior with his own style and way of playing which up to know has been all over the place! If this is signs that he is beginning to pull it all together then everybody else better watch out!
Congratulations to Dundee City Juniors. An emphatic and truly outstanding win and this without our top junior Rishi Vijayakumar!!
Up next in two weeks time, Harrow Juniors D, the team that defaulted in round two so who knows if they will turn up?
