CASTLEHILL QUICK-PLAY GRAND PRIX
Thurs 27th May 21 – Round 2 – 7 round Swiss
Congratulations to Richard Polaczek IM on finishing in top spot on 6 points in the 2nd Castlehill Quick-Play event. There are 5 in total and the player with the most points after the 5 events will be crowned champion. In equal second place on 5 points were Graham Mooney and Andre Babin who was also the only player to beat Richard Polaczek IM!
Richard Kynoch on 4½ points finished in 4th place.
In equal 5th place and getting the last of the Grand Prix points was leader before tonight’s games Euan Murray and defending champion, Andy Rowe, every body else got a bonus point for taking part.
In total 15 players took part in this 3 minutes + 2 seconds increments event.
Andre Babin now leads the way after 2 events on 8 points, but is closely followed by Euan Murray who did not do so will this time but is still only a half point behind on 7½ points!
It was a good night’s chess with some mad games and it was a quick night as well, finishing all 7 rounds before 9pm!
