Scottish Team Challenge 2021-22 (NEW EVENT!)

April 12, 2022NewsBy Ray Noble

SCOTTISH TEAM CHALLENGE 2021-22 (NEW EVENT!)

This new team event is organised by SOCO (Scottish Online Chess Organisation) and started in Feb 22. There is one division (hopefully more next season if all goes well!) with teams from all over Scotland taking part. Castlehill Chess Club Dundee along with their City partners, Dundee Chess Club have joined up under the “Dundee City” banner to enter two teams for the augural event.

Teams are made up of four players playing their opponent twice (b&w) with a time control of 25 minutes + 10 seconds increments. I have now added this event to the Castlehill website with access through the main menu “National Events” then “Scottish Team Challenge“.

It has been running since February and after playing 5 games Dundee City A sit top of the division on maximum points (10)! What a start by Dundee City A!

Dundee City B are now in 6th place after their match last night (Mon 11th April 22) against Stepps.
