JUNIOR CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP 2018-19
Update – 13/03/19
Games have been a bit slow in coming this year, something we will need to address. While we want the kids to have fun, they are here to learn and play chess!
Rishabh Akula tops the table on 13 points despite suffering a shock loss to Haoqi Zang last week! New kid on the block, Alexander Barron-Majerik gets his campaign under way with 3 wins out of 3 matches! One to watch me thinks! Arya Sanu is another junior that has had good results recently and maybe he is a better player than you think? Haoqi Zang is an enigma. One minute he is a average player with little interest, the next he is alive and a world beater! It will be a journey and a half with Haoqi as time goes by.
The defending champion Ramit Kanodia is in 2nd place having only lost one match but having played 5 matches less than Rishabh. Can he catch up and defend his title or will Rishabh hold on. Maybe someone will sneak passed the two of them if they play enough matches? Still a long way to go but we need more matches juniors!
