GLORNEY JUNIOR FESTIVAL 2020 – UPDATE
Thurs 30th July 20; Scotland v Wales
In the Glorney team, Ben Volland J16 in his 4th match finally gets his just rewards with a very good win with white. Ben has been playing well against much stronger players but not getting much joy in the end. This time he was slightly the higher graded player and despite the pressure that can put you under, he brought home the bacon in fine style and deserved to finally get a win! Good on you Ben! Despite getting his first win, Ben was rested for the final match against England.
Pld-4: Won-1: Drn-0: Lost-3
In the Stokes team, Rishi Vijayakumar J8 is finding it hard going against his much stronger opponents! This time was no exception, but he did give a good account of himself and I am sure the experience and coaching will hold him in good stead for the future as long as he does not let it get him down too much. He has still a lot to learn, but given his love of the game and his thirst for improvement, this experience will make him a stronger and better player in the future! Rishi did play against England on Friday, but could not get that win he was looking for and lost again.

Scotland and our two players were always up against it with all their opponents being far higher graded than them. Still they gave a good account of themselves and did Scotland, Castlehill and themselves proud and will learn from this adventure.
