CLUB NIGHT REPORT: Thurs 1st March 2018
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow, but you will never close Castlehill Chess Club!
As you would except with the weather conditions, our chess club was not so busy as normal. We had 14 hardy players down for a game of chess, some snow boarding and some ski yogurt! If it carry’s on like this we could change our name to Ski Thursday!
The thing we are famous for as a club is we only close at Christmas and New Year! Nothing not even the weather stops us from opening. After all it is only a drop of snow in winter!
Two club championship matches were on and one of them produced a shock result!
Keith Rose (1539) 0, Subhayu Banerjee (1359) 1
Subhayu seems to be a bit of a boggy player for Keith. Still Subhayu while apologising for getting away with murder, did so with a bigger smile than the Cheshire cat!
Scot McKenzie 473) 0, Ray Noble (1388) 1
That’s all folks except to thank all the players that made the effort to come to the club! Hopefully normal service will be resumed next week.
