CS SPENS CUP: What a match! Board Count?
CASTLEHILL CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP 2017-18
The 3rd round of our Club Championship is now on our website.
The Club Championship 3rd round night (it will be a busy one!) is THURSDAY 25th JANUARY 2018, 7:30pm (unless you both agree a different time or date).
Time-Control: All moves each player 90 minutes, that’s your lot!
If for some reason you cannot make the Club Championship night, you “MUST” contact your opponent (and me!) to find an alternative date to play the match “WELLBEFORE” the Club Championship night (25th Jan).. Email your opponent and me asap if you have a problem. You can also email your opponent and me to say yes you can play the club championship night as a matter of courtesy.
Failure to turn up on the Club Championship night and no alternative arrangements made will result in the loss of the match.
May I remind our experienced players that a lot of new adults and juniors have entered this year and a little patience and help would be most appreciated? Everybody was a learner at one point.
Recording the moves is compulsory, but consideration and help will be given to juniors and new adult learners.
Good luck to all!
Club Championship Round 2 report:
Defending champion Declan Shafi (2023) made it two win in a row this time against Row with an E! That`s Andy Rowe (1574)! Robert Jackson (1600)est caused an upset in taking down Lloyd Hughes (1831), as did Alan Woodcock (1380) beating Roy Morris (1531). Scot McKenzie (473) was delighted with his checkmate against Lisa Paton (938). Fergus Milne (1530) was reduced to a flood of mistakes in time trouble by Ray Flood (1377)! But the win of the round has to go to one of our juniors. Ramit Kanodia (725) J10 who took on and beat Norman Waugh (1184)! Fantastic result by Ramit! That puts Ramit in with the big boys on 2 out of 2! Also in with the big boys is Krish Akula J10, who won his 1st round match and won by default in round 2 (His opponent did not turn up!) Guess who he is playing in round 3?….
