CASTLEHILL SUMMER FUN ONLINE – Update Wed 5th Aug 20
After two rounds, the number one seed James Anderson (1611) leads the field of 10 by 2 points from Andy Rowe (1536) on 4 points. Marten Kats (1091) made James work for it, but James better end game knowledge won the day! Trevor Harley (1439) also had a close call against young Ramit Kanodia J12 (882) but for a last minute over site which lead to checkmate in one for Trevor!
Robert Jackson (1573) finally gets back to winning ways with a nice win against club newbie, Euan Murray (1500)est, who has been doing pretty well so far!
Ed Walton (1229) & Andy Rowe (1536), served up a cracker of a match, with Ed at one point winning,
38.NxR winning the exchange!

39.Qe4+ Kg7 40.Qd4+ Kh7 41Qe4+ etc
Sometimes it`s harder to convert the win you worked so hard for and Andy is a very experienced “GET OUT OF JAIL” expert and draw converter and so it was… (game No 23 in database)
As for Ray Noble (1536)v Rishi Vijayakumar J8 (482) and the “BUS” incident? It was covered in a previous report so we will save his blushes here, or will we…(Checkout out “Chess News Report” dated 30th July)
Mind you big credit to Rishi for not letting Ray off the hook and converting his advantage to a win!
The draw for round 3 is now up on our website and is scheduled for Monday 17th August 20, 7:30pm. The top match on board one should be a belter of a match and will go along way to deciding the possible winner, especially if James Anderson wins! Can Andy Rowe bring him back into the main field? We will have to wait until then!
