RANDOM KNOCKOUT COMPETITION RULES |

The competition will be conducted by a random draw made on a
club night after each round has been completed. |

The closing date for entries shall be the 4th Thursday in
November. |
| 3 |
The round draws will be displayed on the club notice board. It
will also be available on the web site. Below is a round guide
dependant on entries, subject to change.

The time control will be 30 moves in 60 minutes, followed
by an additional 15 minutes quick-play finish. |

The number of rounds will be dependent on entries |
| 6 |
In all rounds the first player drawn out will have the White
pieces. |
| 7 |
Once the draw has been done, each player shall arrange to play
their designated opponent within the allotted time. |
| 8 |
Both Players must make a serious attempt to
contact their opponent including by telephone, at least 14 days
prior to the dead-line, (see general club rules 18&19).
Failure to contact the organiser/Club Secretary to intimate any
problems, at least 10 days before the dead-line, shall seriously
risk incurring a default/Double-Default |

Any player not playing by the dead-line (subject to the above)
shall be defaulted. |

Tie-Break; In the event of a draw, see tie-break rules. |
| 11 |
The competition organiser and/ or committee may make amendments
deemed appropriate to ensure the smooth running of the tournament |

TIE-BREAK RULES - In strict order |
| 1 |
Players to play on the same night, another game with
colours reversed. Time-Control - All moves in 10 minutes. Allegro
grading game |
| 2 |
A 5 minute blitz, with colours reversed. |
| 3 |
Lower graded player wins. |
| 4 |
Toss of a coin. |
